Welcome

Hello and a warm welcome to you. If you are feeling overwhelmed, confused or struggling with some aspect of everyday life, please know that you’re not alone. I understand that your challenges might seem impossible to overcome, but reaching out for help takes courage and by taking this first step, you are on the path to finding the support you need. Therapy is a journey of self-discovery, a challenging journey at times, but one that has the potential for incredible personal growth and renewal. I offer psychotherapy and counselling to individuals seeking to grow and develop through a healing relationship.

About Me

About Me

I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor, having completed a 4 year training at Manchester Institute for Psychotherapy.

My professional background is in NHS mental health services, working as a social worker and mental health professional for 15 years. I have supported individuals in both community and hospital settings, working with a diverse range of challenging mental health issues. This has given me an extensive knowledge and understanding of issues that underpin mental health difficulties and emotional distress.

On a personal level, I know what it is to experience dark and difficult times. Feeling disconnected from yourself, others and the world around you can be overwhelming and challenging. Through my own personal therapy, I have experienced the powerful and transformative impact of a therapeutic relationship and know the profound changes it can bring.

All of these experiences inform my therapy practice, meaning I have the knowledge and skills to support you in your own process of self-exploration and healing.

My Approach

My approach to therapy is grounded in Transactional Analysis and is based on an Integrative perspective. This approach will help you to make sense of the different aspects of yourself that might feel conflicted, to understand your own patterns of behaviour, to develop an authentic self-expression and healthier ways of relating to others. Everyone is different, so my approach will be tailored to your specific needs and circumstances. Within the therapy room, I provide a warm, open-minded and non-judgemental space where you can freely share and explore your issues in confidence. I value and celebrate diversity in all its forms and warmly welcome people from all backgrounds. My practice is a safe haven for anyone who might feel marginalised, providing a supportive and nurturing environment.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by their code of ethics. I am currently working towards accreditation with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
